For this mix, I selected Japanese music from the 1970s and 1980s, ranging from anime songs and film soundtracks to city pop, kayōkyoku, and other tracks with a Balearic feel.
In Japan, this kind of Balearic-inspired selection of Japanese music is sometimes referred to as "Walearic."
"Wa" means harmony and Japanese sensibility.
"Walearic" is where the Balearic spirit meets the Japanese idea of Wa.
